The community installed an innovative road to set the example, as part of its climate, air and energy plan.

The community put its pledge to advance its ecological transition into practice, through its climate, air and energy plan, setting up a Power Road® system and upgrading the building’s energy efficiency to show the way.

  • 82% drop in CO2 emissions
  • Avoiding 8.4 tCO2eq a year

A few key figures

Needs:

  • Heat production: 43 MWh a year

Installation:

  • Power Road® area: 200 sq. metres
  • Inter-season storage: 4 geothermal probes, 115 metres deep
  • Heat pump: 37 kW
  • Coefficient of performance: 4.5

Praise for Power Road®

The project qualified for grants from the Ademe (French Agency for Ecological Transition) and the Occitanie region, and for energy-saving certificates, which covered 30% of the cost in total.

Combined, installing Power Road® while retrofitting the building to upgrade its energy efficiency earned the building an EnerPHit (Passive House) certificate.
